Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDM)

A Post Graduate Diploma in Management, PGDM course is offered by Institutions which conduct management courses as autonomous entities & not in affiliation with any Universities.

The primary benefit of a PGDM course is that the syllabus is industry relevant; the curriculum is updated regularly in alignment with corporate & technology trends. On the other hand, the Top MBA Colleges in Bangalore syllabus offered by University affiliated Institutions is revised every 3-5 years, which is definitely a long period of time in the rapidly changing global management scenario. As a matter of fact, 9 out of top 10 B Schools in India offer PGDM programs & not MBA courses.

There are several top management colleges offering the PGDM course in Bangalore.  Before considering taking PGDM admission in a PGDM College, you would need to carefully evaluate their infrastructure, curriculum, faculty & placement record before making the final selection.
The PGDM course duration would be for a period of 2 years

While different Universities set different percentage benchmarks, as a common requirement for PGDM course eligibility, applicants need to possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (in any branch of education) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent from any recognized University in India or abroad.

It is also mandatory for a candidate to have completed a minimum of 15 years of education in a 10+2+3 model where the three year Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) must have been obtained by the candidate post completion of higher secondary schooling under the 10+ 2 system.  Candidates also need to have appeared in any of the management entrance exams such as CAT/ GMAT/ XAT etc, as these scores alongwith the marks scored by the candidate in their academics & performance in the Personal Interview / Group Discussion rounds will be considered as a basis for final selection for PGDM admission.

PGDM course fees vary between different colleges & candidates also have the option of paying the fees in installments.
