BBA in Symbiosis

Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS) Pune which had been formerly introduced as Symbiosis BBA was inaugurated on July 12, 2004. Candidates who have passed their 12^th Std or equivalent exam with 50% & above marks (45 % cut off marks for SC/ST) are eligible to apply for this program.

BBA in Symbiosis differs from BBA courses offered by other institutes as this program is designed with both academic & co- curricular inputs and delivered by adopting a multi pronged methodology of teaching. The students of Symbiosis University BBA also enjoy international exposure through process- mapping exercises and regular internship opportunities. As SCMS sees 300 students ( 240 seats allocated for Indian students & 60 seats for international students) enrolling for this BBA program from different economic strata and a mix of gender & nationality backgrounds, the campus facilitates a healthy exchange of ideas, opinions & convictions.

The College has excellent campus facilities including state- of-the-art infrastructure, wi-fi enabled campus, well-furnished spacious lecture halls equipped with the latest audio- visual aids like LCD projectors where students also being encouraged to male Power Point presentations, a modern health fitness center & gymnasium, cafeteria, music room, various indoor & outdoor sporting facilities including squash & swimming, health Care & Insurance facilities a well- stocked library with the latest periodicals on management & related areas . The Campus has an amphitheater with a seating capacity of over 200 students to encourage students to use it for concerts, street-plays, band competitions etc. The College also has a hostel facility for girl students & limited seats for boys with seats being allocated on a ‘first come, first serve basis’.

The Symbiosis BBA program, when it was started in 2004 had a fixed structure which was followed with batches till the 2006-09 years. The “cafeteria curriculum” was launched from the academic year 2011-12 onwards; in other words, at the undergraduate level, students have either the option of taking up courses of their choice to receive a general BBA degree or instead opt for receiving the BBA degree with a single or dual specialization enabling students to choose from a variety of electives courses.  Apart from this variation in curriculum, SCMS Pune also provides a opportunity to go abroad under the Global Immersion Program (GIP) for Semester Exchange, summer school, study tour & service learning.

If you want to secure Symbiosis BBA admission, you need to first resister for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) by the completing online registration process, pay the registration fees, print out the admit card & take up the exam on the specified Test Date. A weightage of 50% will be given to your performance in the SET & the balance 50% to your performance in the Personal Interaction (PI) & Written Ability Test (PI- WAT). The PI process is designed to assess your general awareness, involvement in extracurricular activities and your specific field of interest, communication skills & overall personality. The WAT on the other hand, includes one Picture Association Test (PAT), writing a short essay on a given topic as well as answering questions on any topic.  Based on students performance on the SET,PI-WAT , the merit list is drawn & published on the SCMS Pune website; selected students can then approach the college for BBA admission in Symbiosis.

Symbiosis bba fees has been revised & with effect from 2017, it is Rs 2,30,000 plus a refundable Deposit of  Rs 10,000 in the First year and for the other corresponding years is likely to be increased by 5% each year. The college has an excellent placement track record of 90% of about 100 students who approach the college for placement while the rest of the students go for higher studies. For the year 2016,  the highest package offered on campus was 16.2 lakhs p.a  in International Placements & a domestic package of 5.25 lakhs p.a with an average CTC of 4 lakhs p.a offered to the students. Some of the key recruiters include KPMG, Edelweiss, SA Infotech, JLL, Wipro etc.
